During 13 seasons with the Boston Celtics from 1979-80 through 1991-92, Larry Bird personified hustle, consistency, and excellence in all areas of play; as a scorer, a passer, a rebounder, a defender, a team player, and perhaps above all, as a clutch performer. Bird was so self-confident that he was known to waltz up to the opponent's bench before tipoff and predict a 40-point performance for himself. He was such a deadly shooter that he sometimes practiced three-pointers with his eyes closed. On the left front tail of this knit jersey is the "Medalist Sand-Knit" manufacturer's tag with the jersey size "46" on it. Above that is an additional manufacturer's exclusive tag that reads "Designed & Tailored Exclusively for the Boston Celtics." Adjacent to that are two additional manufacturer's embroidered tags with "3" L.B." and "89" on them. Across the front of the jersey is "CELTICS." Below that and on the back is the player number "33." Across the back of the jersey is "BIRD." All lettering and numbering is done in white tackle twill. On the right shoulder is the official "NBA" embroidered logo. on the left shoulder is the black "Follow Through" armband. The jersey is autographed on front in black marker and rates a 9. On the back inside waistband is the "Medalist Sand-Knit" manufacturer's tag with size "36" on it. Above that is an additional manufacturer's exclusive tag that reads "Designed & Tailored Exclusively for the Boston Celtics." Adjacent to that are three additional manufacturer's tags with "2" L.I." and "89" embroidered and another with "33" written on it in black marker. The jersey & shorts show game-use and appear to have no alterations of any kind. The autograph is accompanied by a LOA from James Spence Authentication.
