Metal beverage cooler from a B-17 bomber measuring 20" high x 13" deep x 18" wide. Fully restored and repainted in a coat of flat military green paint with "nose art" design and yellow bombs. The sides have been stenciled "Property of USAF" in white on two sides and "B-17 425912AF" on the front. The "USAF" designation dates it to no earlier than 1947, when the Air Force was designated a separate branch, however it may have survived the war or may be an artist's rendition. Unknown if the yellow bombs refer to missions flown. There was a B-17 model G entitled "Sack Time" that flew for 303rd Bomb Group, known as the infamous "Hell's Angels."
