Large sized $5 Silver Certificates were issued for five Series', with this Elliott-Burke note being issued in the fourth (1899) Series. Completely redesigned from previous notes, this rare bill features a center portrait of Sioux chief "Running Antelope," and these notes are commonly referred to as "Uncpapa" or "Chief." The engraving caused ill-will with the Indians, as it showed the chief wearing another nation's head dress. Overprinted with a small blue seal on the lower right. Grades Fine-Very Fine.
