On August 22, 1979, New York City product Gerry Cooney defeated bruiser Broderick Mason at 1:44 of the 4th round to bring his then professional record to an impressive 19-0. Offered here is an original LeRoy Neiman sketch of Gerry Cooney, done in brown felt marker. There are multiple inscriptions written in pencil, including, "Swings Like Dave Kingman," "Gentleman Jerry Cooney," "Felt Forum Aug. 22, 1979 after KO of Broderick Mason 1:44 of 4th round." Also included with this piece is an original "RINGSIDE WORKING PRESS" ticket stub. Leroy Neiman has signed the bottom of the sketch in pencil rating a near perfect 10. The sketch measures 12" x 15" and has been professionally matted inside a 20-1/2" x 23-1/2" frame. Accompanied by a LOA from James Spence Authentication.
