In 1981, the perennially victorious Celtics defeated the Houston Rockets to clinch their 14th NBA Championship. Led by HOFers Larry Bird, Robert Parish, Tiny Archibald, and Kevin McHale, the Celtics scored 9,008 points that year, led by Bird's 1,741. This 10K Alicor (stamped inside) size 10 championship ring is a salesman's sample and is identical to the one given to Larry Bird. A round synthetic diamond is centered on a circular green stone setting, surrounded by "NBA World Champions" in relief. On the left shank is an NBA logo in relief over blue and red enamel, amid the year "1981" in relief. Below this is an engraved chevron in relief that reads "Teamwork." On the right shank is "XIV Celtics" in relief on a green enameled three leaf clover. Above this is an engraved gold banner in relief that reads "Bird," below is an engraved gold chevron in relief that reads "Pride." The ring shows light overall wear and grades EXMT-NRMT.
