Gaylord Perry achieved two of pitching's most magical milestones with 314 wins and 3,534 strikeouts. Distracting and frustrating hitters through an array of rituals on the mound, he was a 20-game winner five times and posted a 3.10 lifetime ERA. With the Giants in 1968, Perry threw a no hitter against the Cardinals. An outstanding competitor, he won Cy Young awards in 1972 with Cleveland and with San Diego in 1978, becoming the first pitcher to win the award in both leagues. On the left front tail of the jersey is the "Spalding" manufacturer's tag and next to it the jersey size "46" tag. Below that is the "70 46" embroidered in the jersey. Below that is the "Wash Instructions" tag and "SET 1 #8P 1970" flag tag. On the inside back collar is an additional felt tag with "PERRY" embroidered in black thread. Across the front of the jersey is "SAN FRANCISCO." On the back of the jersey is the player number "36." All lettering and numbering is done in black on orange tackle twill. The jersey is autographed on front in black marker and rates an 8. The jersey shows game-use and appears to have no alterations of any kind. Accompanied by a LOA from James Spence Authentication.
