Mike Piazza is generally recognized as the top-hitting catcher of all time. He is a twelve-time All-Star. In 2004, Piazza surpassed Carlton Fisk for most home runs by a catcher with the 352nd of his career. In the collar are three tags, one is the size "50" tag, another is the "RAWLINGS" manufacturer's tag, and the other is a washing instructions tag. Across the front of the jersey is "NEW YORK CUBANS" in red tackle twill. On the back is the player number "31" in black tackle twill. For Heritage Day, the Mets honor the Negro League New York Cubans by wearing an old-school styled uniform identical to that the Cubans wore. The jersey shows wear and appears to have no alterations of any kind.
