Don Kessinger quickly established himself as an outstanding fielder, leading league shortstops in putouts three years, assists four years, double plays four years, and fielding average once. He played 54 straight errorless games in 1969, then the record for shortstops, and started for the NL in five All-Star games. On the front left tail of the home pinstripe flannel jersey is the "WILSON" size 40 wash instructions tag. In the middle of the front tail is the "SET 1 1968" manufacturer's tag. In the collar is an embroidered strip tag "11-68-1-40". On the front left chest of the jersey is the "CUBS" logo patch. On the back is the player number "7" in blue tackle twill. You can see the outline of the original number "11" on the jersey back. Below the player number is a team name "Jos. Lawrence" from the minor leagues embroidered in the jersey in blue. On the left sleeve is the "CUBS BEAR" patch. Included in the catalog is a photo of Don Kessinger wearing this jersey. The jersey shows good game use and besides having a number change and sponsor name, appears to have no alterations of any kind. Jersey is accompanied by a photo of Don Kessinger in uniform.
