Managed by NL Manager of the year Whitey Herzog, the 1982 St. Louis Cardinals went on to defeat the Milwaukee Brewers in the World Series four games to three. Most memorable was the clutch performance by World Series MVP Darrell Porter. This collection of game-issued bats are all natural Louisville Sluggers. The first is Hall of Fame Shortstop Ozzie Smith's model. It has "1" in black marker on the bottom on the handle and "OZ" at the top of the barrel end. Next is 1982 WS MVP Darrell Porter's model with "15" in black marker on both ends of the bat. It shows excellent dark wood grain. Third is First baseman Keith Hernandez' model with "37" in black marker on both ends. Fourth is an Andy Van Slyke model with "18" in black marker at the top end of the barrel. Next is a Ken Oberkfell model with "10" in black marker on each end. Sixth is a George Hendrick model with "25" on the handle end of the bat. There is also three strips of tape on the barrel. Next is a Glenn Brummer model with "11" on the barrel end of the bat in black marker. There is a pine tar mark above the barrel and spike marker in the barrel end indicating game-use. Lastly is a Bob Forsch model with "31" in black marker on the handle end. There is a 7" slice of wood missing from the barrel end. All bats are in overall very good condition and look like they have been in and out of a bat rack. Accompanied by a LOA from PSA/DNA.
