Mickey Mantle finished his 18-year career with 536 home runs and a .298 batting average. The switch-hitter won three MVP awards (1956, 57, 62) and the Triple Crown in 1956. He was a integral part of twelve pennants and seven World Series titles for the NY Yankees in his first 14 Major League seasons. This is a Limited Edition Mickey Mantle golf bag made of black, white and red leather. It measures 35-1/2" x 13-1/2" x 10" and has a shoulder strap measuring 36" x 4" with black felt padding underneath. There are three small zipper compartments at the base of the bag, two on the back and one on the front. There is also one large interior compartment having three outer zippers, two horizontal measuring 18" each and one vertical measuring 7". Each zipper has the letter "M" monogramed on a one inch silver cube which is used to slide the zipper open. On the front of the bag is an 8" x 10" color photo of Mickey in a batting stance and it is protected by a plastic covering. Directly underneath the photo are two hand painted pictures of The Mick. The first is Mickey completing his classic lefty swing in the batters box and staring up at the right field Facade at Yankee Stadium. He is wearing his NY Yankee Pinstripe uniform and blue batting helmet. The painting shows great detail not only in Mickey's facial features and arms but in his bat, uniform and cleates. The second painting is a head shot of Mickey, showing exquisite detail in his facial features, especially his blue eyes, distinguished chin and ears. He is wearing his blue Yankee cap with the interlocking NY and pinstripe jersey, also with the NY on the left chest. The background of the painting depicts the Facade from Yankee Stadium extremely well and an American Flag. Mickey signed the bag above the artwork with the inscription "NO. 7". It was signed originally in blue marker but was traced by the artist in white to highlight the signature against a navy blue painted background on the white leather panel. The artist signed "Jessie 93/00" at the bottom of the painting. The inside of the bag is a soft, black cotton and in excellent condition. The bag does have some black smudges on the right side white leather panel. Overall the bag is in excellent condition and is accompanied by a LOA from James Spence Authentication.
