The 1962 World Series featured a full seven game battle between the Giants of San Francisco and the Yankees from New York. Lead by their emotional leader and future HOFer Yogi Berra, the Yankees took home yet another championship with a tight 1-0 victory in game seven. Manuf: H&B, Model: B211, Length: 35 in, Weight: 32.8 oz, Wood: Ash, Condition: Hillerich & Bradsby model B211 Yogi Berra professional model bat shows evidence of excellent use with a handle crack and slight checking (grain separation) from repeated ball contact on the left barrel that have both been professionally repaired. Several ball marks are visible on the right and back barrel. Also visible on the bat are cleat marks and black bat rack streaks. The bat model number "B211" is stamped into the knob end. A notable Berra characteristic present on this 1962 World Series bat is the unique across the grain branding which is noted on Berra's ordering records beginning in the spring of 1958 and continuing through 1961. Yogi had a habit of turning the bat in his hands. The movement of the center brand allowed Yogi to compensate for the roll of the bat and allow him to strike the ball with the sweet spot of the barrel. The bat exhibits overall EXCELLENT use and has been given an overall grade by PSA/DNA of GU8. Accompanied by a detailed LOA from PSA/DNA.
