This lot is consigned to us directly from the Carter Family in an effort to raise money for their charity, The Gary Carter Foundation. The Gary Carter Foundation aims to better the physical, mental and spiritual well being of children as well as its primary focus, the Autism Project of Palm Beach County. We are proud supporters of their efforts and hope that the auctioning off of these motorcycle aids their efforts. This 2004 V-Rod “100th Anniversary” model Harley-Davidson motorcycle has 3,250 miles on its odometer, and is in pristine condition. It was personally owned by Hall of Famer Gary Carter; given to him by the New York Mets following his induction into the Baseball Hall of Fame. The vivid black cruiser-style motorcycle was manufactured in August of 2003 (VIN# 1HD1HBZ1X4K800754), it has a 2-cylinder engine and gross vehicle weight of 1,022 lbs. Included with the motorcycle are personally-owned accessories worn by Carter and his widow, Sandy: Harley-Davidson black leather jacket with “Kid HOF ‘03” embroidered in orange on the inside, a second H-D black leather jacket with “Sandy - Fifty has never felt so cool” embroidered in orange on the inside, four motorcycle helmets, men’s size 12 riding boots, H-D 021-0123 battery charger, H-D denim vest, an H-D insulated cooler bag and several H-D shirts. The bike has been in storage for several years, the battery is dead and the tires need air. Other than that we assume there are no mechanical issues but we offer no guarantees. This item will require special shipping arrangements, all charges to be paid by the winning bidder. Accompanied by a LOA from the Carter Foundation.
