Sandy Koufax played his entire 12-year baseball career for the Brooklyn/LA Dodgers. His career peaked with a run of six outstanding seasons from 1961 to 1966. He was named the National League's MVP in 1963. He also won the 1963, 1965, and 1966 Cy Young Awards by unanimous votes, making him the first 3-time Cy Young award winner in baseball history. In each of his Cy Young seasons, Koufax won the pitcher's triple crown by leading the NL in wins, strikeouts, and ERA. Koufax was also the first major leaguer to pitch four no-hitters (including the eighth perfect game in baseball history). Retiring at the peak of his career, he became the youngest player ever elected to the Hall of Fame in 1972. On the inner band is the “KM PRO CAP” manufacturers stamp. Adjacent is the size “7 1/4” stamped. Underneath the inner sweatband reads “Koufax” written in black marker. Adjacent is the size “7 1/4” tag. Under the brim is the player’s number “32” handwritten in black marker. Blue cap with team logo “LA” embroidered on top in white. This cap was originally sourced from Dick Dobbins.
