2021 Hall of Fame inductee Gil Hodges wore this jacket during his final years as a player with the New York Mets. The jacket has a navy blue wool exterior with a satin orange inner lining. Inside the front left of the jacket is the MacGregor manufacturer’s tag size “42” with an attached tag that is heavily faded and one with washing instructions. Inside beneath the neck is a swatch with the number “14” handwritten on it in black marker and an additional illegible marking. Above is a metal chain hanging device. On the left chest is a beautiful “NY” Mets team logo in orange raised chenille stitching. On the left sleeve is a Mets team logo disc patch. Expected vintage aging to the jacket is present however it displays beautifully. This jacket is properly tagged, was presented to us as player-worn and shows wear.
