Max Carey had a 20-year MLB career and was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1961. Carey led the league in stolen bases 10 times and finished with 738 steals, which was the National League record until 1974. He is still ninth all-time in major league history. Carey won a World Series Championship in 1925. Inside the rear collar is a “Wilson” manufacturer’s tag with a size “46” flag tag attached. Across the front reads, “U.S. ALL STARS”. Player number “26” appears on the back. All numbering and lettering are done in the same red felt on navy blue felt sewn directly onto the grey flannel jersey. This jersey is properly tagged, was presented to us as manager's worn and in our opinion shows appropriate wear. This jersey was originally sourced from the Carey family and ran in the famous Sotheby's Halper sale. It is in magnificent condition.
