Dennis Johnson was the starting point guard for the Boston Celtics with whom he won two Championships. DJ was voted to five All-Star Teams, one All-NBA First and one Second Team, and nine consecutive All-Defensive First and Second Teams. The Celtics franchise has retired his number “3” jersey, which hangs from the rafters of the TD Garden. In 2010, the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame announced that Johnson was posthumously elected to the Hall. This shirt was possibly worn during the Celtics 1984 Championship Season. On the left front tail of this knit jersey is the “Sand-Knit” manufacturer’s tag with jersey size “42”. Directly above is the “Designed & Tailored Exclusively for Boston Celtics” tag. Across the front is “CELTICS”. Player number “3” appears on both the front and back. Player name “JOHNSON” appears across the back. All numbers and letters are done in white tackle twill. The jersey is properly tagged, was presented to us as game-used and in our opinion, shows excellent use.
