The legend of Michael Jordan jump started as a Freshman at the University of North Carolina. With the 1982 NCAA Championship on the line, Jordan hit a mid-range jumper with 15 seconds remaining to secure the national championship for the Tar Heels. The clutch jumper was a preview into the career of what would be the best basketball player ever to step on the hardwood. Converse All-Star manufactured white sneakers with Tar Heel blue trim. The size tags have been removed presumably for player comfort. The player number “23” is handwritten inside the tongue of both shoes in period faded black marker. Jordan signed the outside ankle of the left shoe and inside ankle of the right shoe and the signatures are heavily faded. Sourced from Sotheby’s via Jordan’s cousin. These shoes are properly tagged, were presented to us as game-used and show wear. Accompanied by a Basketball Hall of Fame LOA and a Full LOA from JSA.
