In 1957, Woody Sauldsberry was drafted in Round 8 by the Philadelphia Warriors. The following year in 1958, he was named the league's Rookie of the Year; the second African American ever to win the award and becoming the lowest overall draft pick ever to win the award, a record he still holds. Inside the right front tail is the “Rawlings” manufacturer’s tag with size “46”. Adjacent is a wash instructions label. Across the front is “HAWKS”. Player number “21” appears on both the front and back. There is a one inch hole adjacent to the front number. All numbers and letters are done in red on blue tackle twill. There is a three-inch hole at the lower left side. On the rear waistband of the shorts is the “Rawlings” tag with size “42”. Adjacent is a wash instructions label. The shorts have numerous rips and tears and show heavy sweat staining. The uniform is properly tagged, was presented to us as game-used and in our opinion, shows outstanding use.
