Don Newcombe came to the Brooklyn Dodgers in 1949 and instantly began to pay dividends. He was named NL Rookie of the Year (1949), NL MVP & Cy Young (1956), and anchored the Brooklyn staff until 1958. This blue jacket with white trim belonged to Don Newcombe while a member of the Brooklyn Dodgers. In the collar of the jacket is the "Butwin" label. Across the front of the jacket in is the name "Dodgers" in white tackle twill. On the bottom of the left sleeve is the player number "36" in white tackle twill. Above the "Butwin" label is a blank tag with the name "Koufax" written in black marker. The jacket was made for Newcombe so it is unknown why Koufax name appears. Some of the stitching on the left sleeve has come loose but otherwise the jacket is in excellent condition.
