A tremendous 1948 Phil Masi game-used Boston Braves jersey, this lot includes period pants, stirrups, and spikes. We do know that Masi used this grey road jersey and the additional pieces display nicely to complete a full uniform, though we are unsure as to who wore the other pieces. Inside the rear collar of the jersey is the Horace Partridge manufacturer’s tag with an attached flag tag reading the size “44”. Below is a strip tag reading the player name “Masi” embroidered in red chain stitching. Across the chest reads “Braves” in red on black felt above the team’s Tomahawk logo. On the left sleeve is a beautiful Braves team logo patch and across the back is the player number “38” in red on black felt which has been changed from Masi’s original number “10” with a faint outline present. Included are a pair of matching pants which are also Horace Partridge manufactured size “38” with the number “31” embroidered inside the rear waistband. Also included is a pair of stirrups and vintage cleats. This uniform is properly tagged, was presented to us as game-used and in our opinion shows excellent use.
