This size 9-1/2 ring was presented to Charles Scott as an honoree of the National Association of Basketball Coaches upon his 25th anniversary of graduating the University of North Carolina, where he was the first black scholarship athlete. A gold medalist at the 1968 Summer Olympics, Scott played two seasons in the ABA and eight in the NBA, where he was a five time NBA All-Star. Around the top perimeter is "NABC" and "Honoree" in relief with blue stone in center. On the right shank is an engraved raised banner that reads "1970-1995," below which is a raised NABC logo with engraved date banner that reads "4-2-95." On the left shank is an engraved raised banner with the name "Scott," below which is raised "NABC 25th Anniversary" log with engraved banner that reads "North Carolina." On the inside of the ring is stamped "CE LGB." EXMT with a few minor abrasions.
