“The Iron Man” Cal Ripken, Jr. passed Lou Gehrig’s record for most consecutive games played in 1995, a record that stood for 56 years and many deemed unbreakable. On the front left tail is the “RUSSELL ATHLETIC” manufacturer’s tag with size “48” and wash instructions. Across the front reads “Orioles” in black on orange tackle twill. Adjacent below is the player number “8” in orange on black tackle twill. On the left sleeve is the Baltimore “Oriole” logo embroidered in orange and black on white tackle twill. On the right sleeve is the Russell “R” logo embroidered in black. Across the back is the player name “RIPKEN” on a white nameplate. Adjacent below is the player number “8”. Both are done in the same black on orange tackle twill. Ripken has signed the rear tail of the jersey in black marker, in our opinion the signature rates a 7. This jersey is properly tagged, was presented to us as a game jersey only with no team affiliation. This shirt may or may not match the player's exact specs, could be a customized blank, or produced by the team for promotional purposes. Accompanied by a LOA from JSA.
