Game Five of the 1997 NBA Finals remains one of the most iconic in NBA history. Michael Jordan was said to have woken up in the middle of the night before Game 5; aching, sweating and shivering from the flu, or food poisoning, or bad room service, or whatever theory the next person claims. The Bulls went on to win the game, with Jordan collapsing into Scottie Pippen’s arms. After Jordan’s 38-point performance, Pippen said "He's the greatest, and everyone saw why tonight." Offered are Pippen’s shoes worn during the iconic game and moment sourced directly from a Utah Jazz ball boy. Nike manufactured size “16” black shoes with red and white trim. On the tongues and backs is a Pippen logo. Pippen signed the outside ankle of both shoes in gold marker with one adding the inscription “To Preston” and in our opinion the signatures rate a combined 8. A rare piece of basketball history. These shoes are properly tagged, were presented to us as game-used and show wear. Accompanied by a Full LOA from JSA and a ball boy LOA.
