Mariano Rivera is a five-time World Series champion and will be a shoo-in for the National Baseball Hall of Fame when he comes eligible. The most dominant reliever of his era, Rivera was the World Series MVP in 1999, holds the MLB all-time record for saves and has his No. 42 retired by the New York Yankees. On the front left tail is a “Majestic” manufacturer’s tag with two flag tags that read, “2013” and “46” respectively. On the manufacturer’s tag is Steiner Sports hologram sticker “189273” and MLB hologram sticker “509050EK”. Below the manufacturer’s tag is a “New York Yankees” inventory barcode tag. On the left inseam is a size “46” materials tag with washing instructions. Across the chest reads, “NEW YORK” and on the back is the player number “42”. These are done in camouflage on white tackle twill as the Yankees were wearing specially made jerseys for the MLB’s ‘Salute To Service’ initiative. On the number “4” is a Steiner Sports hologram sticker. Rivera signed the jersey on the “4” in blue pen and in our opinion, rates an 8 overall. Rivera wrote inscriptions on the number “2” including: “Exit Sandman”, “WS Champs 96,98,99,00,09” and “2013 Game Used”. On the rear neckline is the official “MLB” logo embroidered. This jersey is properly tagged, was presented to us as player-worn and in our opinion shows appropriate wear. Rivera did not pitch in this contest but wore it on the bench.
