Check from “THE ILION BANK”, dated May 13, 1854 in the amount of “$1,000”. Paid to the order of “Note”. The check has been filled out and signed by Eliphalet Remington, founder of what is now known as the Remington Arms Co. The signature along with the date, amount and recipient are penned in black fountain ink and in our opinion the beautiful signature rates an 9. No band markings or stamps are present on the check, the verso is blank. Measures 7-¼” x 3-¼”, it is in VG condition with creasing, folding and light tearing along the top edge, a small hole is present in the center of the check. Accompanied by a LOA from JSA.
