After being drafted in the third round in 1996, Terrell Owens became an impact player faster than anyone imagined. He started more games at receiver than any 49ers' rookie since Gene Washington. At the base of the "V" neck is the "NFL" patch. On the left front tail is the "Adidas" label and below this is the year tag, "01." Next to this is the size tag, "42." On the back of the jersey is a maroon mesh nameplate with the name "Owens" in white on black tackle twill. The player number "81" appears on the front, back and on each sleeve of the jersey. The letters and numbers are made of white on mustard/black tackle twill. The jersey shows game-use and appears to have no alterations of any kind.
