Arguably the greatest player of his generation, Ken Griffey Jr. all but single-handedly saved baseball in Seattle with his monstrous home runs and breathtaking centerfield defense. Statistics provide only the barest glimpse of Griffey's dazzling array of talents. No number of Gold Gloves could do justice to the sight of him racing back to scale the outfield wall and snag a baseball that was destined for the bleachers. This jersey was worn during the latter part of the season. On the left front tail is the "Russell Athletic" label and below is a label reading "Property of the Cincinnati Reds 2001." Next to this is the size tag, "46" and below is the "2" Extra Length" label. Across the front of the jersey is the name "Cincinnati" and on the back is the name "Griffey." The player number "30" appears on both the left breast and on the back of the jersey. The letters and numbers are made of red on white/black tackle twill. On the back of the jersey is an American flag patch commemorating the Sept. 11, 2001 terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon. The jersey shows game-use and appears to have no alterations of any kind.
