Mr. Padre spent his entire 20-season career in San Diego, finishing with 3,141 hits and was enshrined in the National Baseball Hall of Fame in 2007. The Padres visited the Pirates and both teams wore turn back the clock uniforms to commemorate the Pirates 1960 World Series Championship. The Padres did not exist as a MLB team until 1969 so their throwback jerseys were from their inaugural season. On the front left tail is the Mitchell & Ness “Cooperstown Collection” manufacturers tag. Inside the collar is an additional Mitchell & Ness tag with an attached flag tag reading the size “XL”. Attached to the inside rear middle tail is a flag tag also reading the size “XL” with jersey materials and washing instructions. On the left sleeve is the “1769-1969 San Diego 200th Anniversary” patch. Across the chest reads “SAN DIEGO” and on back is the player number “19”. All numbering and lettering is done in brown felt on yellow tackle twill. This jersey is properly tagged and was presented to us as bench worn as Gwynn did not play in the game.
