A superb big game pitcher, John Smoltz was routinely tapped by manager Bobby Cox to pitch playoff openers ahead of teammates Greg Maddux and Tom glavine. His development from skinny prospect to a staff workhorse was a primary factor in the Braves' dominance of the 1990s. Employing a classic power closer's arsenal of an overpowering high 90's fastball and an untouchable slider, John Rocker was a hitter's worst nightmare. On the left front tail of the Smoltz jersey is the "Russell Athletic" label and size "48." Across the front of the jersey is the name "Atlanta" in script-style letters made of red on blue tackle twill. Below this is the Braves "Tomahawk." On the back of the shirt is a gray nameplate with "Smoltz" in blue tackle twill. Below this is the player number "29" in red on blue tackle twill. On the left sleeve is the "Jackie Robinson 50th" anniversary patch. On the left front tail of the Rocker jersey is the "Russell Athletic" label with the size "48" and below this is the "2" Extra Body Length" label. Across the front of the jersey is the name "Atlanta" in script-style letters made of red on blue tackle twill. Below this is the Braves "Tomahawk." On the back of the shirt is a gray nameplate with "Rocker" in blue tackle twill. Below this is the player number "49" in red on blue tackle twill. Both jerseys show game-use and appear to have no alterations of any kind.
