Bruce Smith was enshrined into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in his first year of eligibility in 2009. Smith holds the NFL career record for quarterback sacks and appeared in four straight Super Bowls with the Bills. He was named the Defensive Player of the Year three times and was named to both the 1980s and 1990s NFL All-Decade teams. This jersey has been custom cut short above the manufacturers tag and the sides have been taken in. On the v-neck is the official “NFL” shield logo. Across the front and back is the player number “78” painted in white on red. Across the back on a blue nameplate is the player name “B. SMITH” in white vinyl lettering. On both shoulders is the player number “78” in white on red vinyl lettering with a “Wilson” logo above. Smith signed the back of the jersey with the added inscription “To Jeff” and in our opinion the signature rates an 8. There are multiple repairs on the right shoulder. There is evidence of prior framing with residue present on the inside tail. This jersey is properly tagged, was presented to us as game-used and in our opinion shows outstanding use with paint and field transfers. Photo-matched to several games including 11/9/97 vs New England Patriots (GI #242490), 11/23/97 at Tennessee Oilers (GI #110341057 & #110341055), and 12/14/97 vs Jacksonville Jaguars (GI #385477).
