After a stand-out career at the University of North Carolina, Hall of Famer Michael Jordan joined the NBA's Chicago Bulls in 1984. He quickly emerged as one of the stars of the league, entertaining crowds with his prolific scoring. His leaping ability, illustrated by performing slam dunks from the free throw line at Slam Dunk Contests, earned him the nickname "Air Jordan". These shoes are loosely attributed to Game 5 of the NBA finals on June 18th, 1993 but a conclusive match has not been made. Jordan scored 41 points and added 7 rebounds and 7 assists. The black color scheme of the Air Jordan VIIIs debuted in the first round of the 1993 Playoffs and was worn throughout the NBA Finals. It is unclear which game these were worn in, although the shoes are verified as being worn. Jordan VIII size “13” black shoes with red and white trim. Jordan signed the toe of each shoe in silver and in our opinion rate a combined 7. As common, significant condition issues are present. These shoes are properly tagged, were presented to us as game-used and show wear. Accompanied by two Full LOA’s from JSA as well as a letter from Troy Kinunen (now known as MEARS) and a video clip from the Home Shopping Network where these shoes were purchased by our consignor.
