After 12 seasons with the Minnesota Twins Kirby Puckett's baseball career was cut short by an ailment that left him legally blind in one eye. He played in 10 consecutive All-Star games and won six Gold Gloves leading his team to two World Series victories. This bat was used by Kirby and shows the 1991-95 labeling period. The 34.5 inch, 32 ounce, P339 model Louisville Slugger shows evidence of tremendous game-use and has a moderate coat of pine tar applied to the handle. There are ball and stitch marks visible on the barrel and there is slight grain separation to the reverse of the hitting area. His jersey number "34" has been written on both ends in blue marker and "WIN" has been written twice on the knob. Puckett would often write something inspirational on his bats.
