Hall of Famer Ted Williams wore this jersey during the 1989 Spring Training season while coaching. On the inside front left tail is the Rawlings manufacturer’s tag size “46” with washing instructions. Attached are two flags, one reading “SET 1 1989” and “2 INCH EXTRA LENGTH”. Across the front reads “RED SOX” and on the back is the coaches number “9”. All numbering and lettering is done in red on white tackle twill. The jersey measures to a size “50” but is size “46” which is correct for what Williams wore. Ted came yearly to the Red Sox Spring Training camp as a special instructor and mentor. This jersey was obtained from a former Red Sox employee who was gifted the jersey from a team official in 1990. This is the first time this jersey has been publicly offered. This jersey is properly tagged, was presented to us as coaches worn and shows wear.
