A 12-time NBA All-Star and three-time NBA champion, Larry Bird earned nearly every accolade the NBA has to offer. Spending his entire playing career with the Boston Celtics, Bird twice reached the 50-40-90 plateau to cement himself as one of the best shooters in the league’s history. A member of the NBA’s 50th Anniversary All-Time team, Bird has his No. 33 retired by the Boston Celtics and is a two-time Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame inductee. On the front left tail is a white swatch with the year “89” embroidered on it in black stitching. Adjacent is a tag that reads, “Designed & Tailored Exclusively for BOSTON CELTICS”. Below is a “Sand-Knit” size “46” manufacturer’s tag. On the right inseam is a materials tag with washing instructions. Across the chest reads, “CELTICS”, the player number “33” appears on both the front and on the back and across the back reads the player name, “BIRD”. The Celtics added the “Follow Through” armband in mid-November after the passing of Joan Cohen, the wife of Celtics owner Alan Cohen. There is no indication of the memorial band ever being present on the shirt, leading us to believe that it was likely prepared for one of the first few road games of the 1989-90 season or preseason. All numbering and lettering is done in white tackle twill sewn directly onto the green mesh jersey. This jersey is properly tagged, was presented to us as game-used and in our opinion shows light use.
