After leading Michigan State to the NCAA title in 1979 and being named the tournament's MVP, Johnson was the first player selected in the NBA Draft. His impact on the league, and on the Lakers, was immediate. In the 1980 NBA Finals, Magic showcased his talents, playing all five positions on the court and leading Los Angeles to the title. He would lead the Lakers to the title four more times in the 1980s and be named Finals MVP three times. Named to 12 All-Star teams (game MVP twice), Johnson won league MVP honors three times. When he retired, he ranked first in career assists in the NBA. Named one of the 50 greatest players in NBA history in 1996, Magic was elected to the Basketball Hall of Fame in 2002. On the left front tail is the “MacGregor Sand-Knit” manufacturer’s tag with jersey size “42”. Directly above is the “Designed & Tailored Exclusively for Los Angeles Lakers” tag. Adjacent are two strip tags, “88” and “2”LB”. Across the front is “LAKERS” done in yellow on white tackle twill. Player number “32” appears on both the front and back in white on yellow twill. Player name “JOHNSON” appears on back in yellow on white tackle twill. Magic has signed the front number in black marker rating a 7. At the left chest is the official NBA embroidered logo. The jersey is properly tagged, was presented to us as game-used and in our opinion, shows excellent use. Accompanied by a LOA from JSA.
