Ryne Sandberg was elected into the National Baseball Hall of Fame in 2005. The 1984 NL MVP made 10 All-Star appearances, won nine Gold Glove Awards and was a seven-time Silver Slugger Award winner. His No. 23 is retired by the Chicago Cubs. Manufacturer: Rawlings Model Number: Pro SPT Size: 12 inches Material: Leather Web Style: Basket. The glove shows great game use in a deeply worn pocket with a slight tear, inside the wrist strap and on top of the finger hole. The glove shows multiple season use and matches up well to photos from the 1986 season, indicating this may have been Sandberg’s favorite glove. Sandberg signed the pinky loop inside the pocket in black marker and in our opinion the signature rates a strong 8. The player name “Sandberg” is handwritten in black marker down the thumb loop presumably by the equipment staff, a trait that matches other documented examples. Both signatures are done in black marker and in our opinion the signatures rate a combined near 9. Accompanied by two PSA/DNA LOAs, one for the glove itself and one for the autograph.
