Larry Bird completed the NBA trifecta in the 1985-86 season when he took home both regular season and NBA Finals MVP honors while leading the Boston Celtics to another Larry O’Brien championship trophy. Bird averaged 25.8 points, 9.8 rebounds and 6.8 assists during the regular season and reeled off 24 points, 9.7 rebounds and 9.5 assists per game during the NBA Finals. Bird is a two-time Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame inductee and was named to the NBA’s 50th Anniversary All-Time Team. On the front left tail is a “Sand Knit” distributor’s tag that reads, “Designed & Tailored Exclusively for the BOSTON CELTICS”. Below is a “Sand-Knit” size “44” manufacturer’s tag. On the right inseam is a tag that reads, “100% NYLON” with washing instructions. Across the chest reads, “CELTICS”, the player number “33” appears on both the front and on the back and across the back reads the player name “BIRD”. All numbering and lettering are done in green tackle twill sewn directly onto the white knit jersey. There is a repair on the back right player number “3”. This jersey is properly tagged, was presented to us as game-used and in our opinion shows outstanding use. You would be hard pressed to find a better example. This jersey is sourced from a Celtics ball boy. The jersey features a MEARS tag that is registered in the database grading an A10 however the LOA has been misplaced.
