The New York Islanders dominated hockey in the early 1980's, winning four straight Stanley Cups. A core of Hall of Fame players, including goalie Billy Smith, winger Mike Bossy centerman Bryan Trottier and defenseman Dennis Potvin, led the Islanders to 19 consecutive play-off series wins. This New York Islanders road mesh jersey was worn by the Islander's captain during the 1984-85 NHL season. In the neck of the jersey is the "CCM" label with the size "52" and the player number "5" written in blue magic marker. Under this is a label with the year "84". On the back tail is the "CCM" patch. On the front of the shirt is the Islander emblem in orange/white/blue tackle twill and on the back is a blue mesh nameplate with the name "Potvin" in white tackle twill. On the upper left front is the letter "C" denoting "Captain". The letter is made of white on orange tackle twill. The player number "5" appears on the back of the jersey as well as on each sleeve. The numbers are made of white on orange tackle twill. The jersey shows tremendous game use.
