Willie McCovey was voted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1986. The San Francisco Giants slugger was a three-time NL home run champion, two-time RBI champion, six-time All-Star and the NL MVP in 1969. This bat is uncracked and shows evidence of excellent game use. A few ball marks and black bat rack streaks are visible on the right side of the barrel and there is a light coat of pine tar on the handle. The player number “44” is handwritten on the knob in black marker. The key characteristic of the bat is the flat knob. McCovey’s factory ordering records specify flat knobs for bats ordered during the referenced labeling period. McCovey signed the bottom barrel and in our opinion the signature rates a near 8. Accompanied by a PSA/DNA LOA and an ALOA from JSA.
