Bill King presided over a vibrant era in Oakland sports history, serving more than two decades as play-by-play man for the Athletics, the Warriors and the Raiders. His trademark commentary including his call, "Holy Toledo!" are what Oakland fans recount when they think back on the World Championship days of the Bash Brothers. Presented is King's personal memento of the Raiders' first trip to the Super Bowl, a gleaming commemorative Super Bowl ring. Real diamonds cluster to form a figural football on a black stone of the face, with more diamonds linking the text at top and bottom that reads, "OAKLAND RAIDERS WORLD CHAMPIONS". The left shank recounts the final scores of the Super Bowl victory over the Vikings and the AFC Championship game victory over the Steelers amidst text that reads, "SUPER BOWL XI PRIDE 1976". The right shank reads, "B. KING, RADIO" and "POISE 1976" on either side of a team logo. The interior band is stamped "14K". The ring measures to a size “10” and weighs 42 grams. Nearly pristine condition. Also included is the original engraved presentation box that reads “Presented To BILL KING TEAM BROADCASTER For your contribution to the World Champions of Professional Football THE OAKLAND RAIDERS”. The box exhibits storage wear. Accompanied by a LOP from King’s Family.
