Carl Yastrzemski is an 18-time All-Star, the possessor of seven Gold Gloves and a member of the 3000 hit club. He is the Red Sox' all-time leader in career RBIs, runs, hits, singles, doubles, total bases and games played. In 1967, Yastrzemski achieved a peak in his career, leading the Red Sox to the AL pennant for the first time in over two decades. Inside beneath the collar is the McAuliffe manufacturer’s tag with a box tag below reading the size “42”. On the front middle tail is a strip tag reading the year “1976” and one with washing instructions. On the left sleeve is the rare “MASSACHUSETTS BICENTENNIAL” patch which may have been restored. Across the chest reads “RED SOX” and on the back is the player number “8”. All numbering and lettering is done in red on navy blue tackle twill. Yastrzemski signed the front of the jersey in black marker with the added inscription “HOF 89” and in our opinion rates an 8. The jersey is sans the Tom Yawkey armband who passed away in July of 1976 which indicates this jersey was worn earlier in the season. This jersey is properly tagged, was presented to us as game-used and in our opinion shows excellent use. Accompanied by an ALOA from JSA.
