Being a defenseman in the NHL was never the same once Bobby Orr stepped on the ice. One of the very greatest of all time in the sport of hockey, Orr revolutionized what we thought a defenseman was supposed to be as he became the only one ever to lead the league in scoring. He holds the record for most points and assists in a single season by a defenseman, won a record eight consecutive Norris Trophies (NHL's best defenseman) and three consecutive Hart Trophies (league’s MVP award). Orr was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 1979. This is a photo-matched Orr road jersey. Inside beneath the collar is the Wilson manufacturer’s tag size “50” with washing instructions. Across the front is the Bruins team logo crest. The player number “4” appears on both sleeves and on the back in yellow on white tackle twill. The alternate captain “A” logo has been removed from the upper left chest with an outline remaining. There are numerous beautiful team repairs throughout the front body, rear body and both sleeves. Surface wear is present throughout including board burns and heavy pilling on the inside. The large double garter belt fight strap is intact. This museum quality piece is one of the finest hockey jerseys we have had the pleasure of handling. This jersey is properly tagged, was presented to us as game-used and in our opinion shows outstanding use. Accompanied by a Photo-Match.com LOA and a Selby Colson LOA.
