Phil Esposito was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 1984 and retired with the sixth most career goals (717) and 10th most points (1,590). Esposito helped lead the Bruins to two Stanley Cups in the 1970s, was an eight-time all-star, two-time Hart Memorial Trophy winner (league’s regular season MVP), five-time Art Ross Trophy winner( league’s points leader) and two-time Ted Lindsay Trophy winner. Recently, NHL.com voted Esposito as one of the greatest 100 players of all-time. Offered is Esposito’s 1973 All-Star Game jersey. Inside the rear neck is the Gerry Cosby distributor’s tag overlaying a Wilson manufacturer’s tag that reads size “50” handwritten in black marker. The combination of Cosby over Wilson tagging has been documented on New England Whalers first year jerseys. Across the front is a large “NHL” logo patch done in orange, black and white embroidery. On the upper left and right chest is an orange tackle twill “Star” logo with two additional smaller “NHL” logos that are hand placed off center onto the star, truly making this a one-of-a-kind jersey. This placement of the logos inside of the star have matched in-game photography. Three white stars go horizontally across the bottom and are on both elbows in white twill with a black stitched border. On both sleeves and across the back is the player number “7” done in orange on black tackle twill. On the back shoulders are an orange and black “NHL” logo embroidered. Across the back reads the player name “P. ESPOSITO” in black on orange tackle twill. The period separating the first name from his last name appears in the shape of a diamond and is off centered, which also matches in-game photography. There are board burns present on the left sleeve. A true one-of-one piece from one of Hockey’s greatest players. This jersey is properly tagged, was presented to us as game-used and in our opinion shows appropriate use. Accompanied by a LOA from Photo-Match.com grading the jersey a perfect 10 and confirming the match.
