The first overall pick in the 1973 NFL Draft John Matuszak played nine seasons in the NFL. Following his playing career Matuszak is well known for his acting career playing Sloth in the 1985 movie “The Goonies”. Offered is a jersey from his rookie NFL season with the 1973 Houston Oilers. On the front left tail is the Champion manufacturer’s tag size “52” with washing instructions. Matuszak’s number “78” is screen-pressed onto the front and back of the white mesh jersey and its shoulder sleeves. The nameplate on the back features “Matuszak” in vinyl baby-blue letters. The jersey shows flaking on the digits and on the nameplate. This jersey is properly tagged, was presented to us as game-used and in our opinion shows outstanding use. Accompanied by an LOA from Matuszak’s sister.
