This is the last home uniform worn by Jim Turner as the pitching coach for the Yankees in 1973. It is accompanied by a handwritten letter by Pete Sheehy, long time clubhouse manager for the Bombers which explains how the uniform was held at the cleaners and given by Sheehy to Turner. This uniform is sourced from the Turner family and is accompanied by a photomatch. On the left front tail of the jersey is the “Wilson” tag with size “46” and wash instructions. Adjacent is a strip tag with “73”. Inside the rear collar is a strip tag with “Turner” embroidered. Coaches number “31” appears on back in navy tackle twill. On the left sleeve is the “50 Anniversary Yankee Stadium” patch which is rare. Thermal long sleeve undershirt is included. Inside the rear waistband of the matching pants is the same “Wilson” tag with size “38”. Adjacent is a strip tag with “Turner 73 Set 1 25”. The belt is intact. Also included is a “McAuliffe” Yankee cap, “KM PRO” leather band size “7”, a pair of navy stirrups, pair of “Wilson” spikes, an old glove and Yankee jacket, size “48” with inner lining intact. The entire ensemble is sourced from the Turner family. The uniform is properly tagged, was presented to us as coaches worn, and in our opinion shows wear.
