Known as Super Games II, this game was played May 25, 1972, at the Nassau Coliseum. The NBA threatened to fine and/or suspend any NBA player who participated in Supergame II, but this did not stop the NBA Players Association from assembling another powerhouse team: seven Hall of Famers, six of whom are on the Top 50 List. Hall of Famer and Top 50 player Jerry West was unable to play because his kids were sick and his spot was filled by his Lakers teammate and fellow Hall of Famer, Gail Goodrich. Paul Silas replaced injured Hall of Famer Dave DeBusschere. The 1972 ABA team featured three Hall of Famers in Rick Barry, Julius Erving and Dan Issel. Elgin Baylor coached the NBA and Wilt Chamberlain was the team captain; Al Bianchi and Mel Daniels filled those roles for the ABA. On the inside back collar is the "Gerry Cosby" manufacturer's tag. Attached is the size 46 flag tag with “2” Long” written in pen. On the front and back is the player number "24" in red on blue tackle twill. Across the back is the player name "BARRY" in blue tackle twill. The sides have been taken in. The jersey shows game-use and besides the custom taken in sides appears to have no other alterations of any kind. The provenance on this jersey is absolute. It was a gift from Rick Barry to NY Nets ball boy Al Trautwig. It is accompanied by a LOA from Rick Barry as well as a LOA from Al Trautwig.
