Jumping to the rival ABA from the NBA in 1968, Rick Barry was the first dominant force and marquee name in the new league. Two years after acquiring Barry from the Washington Caps, the 1972 NY Nets advanced to the ABA finals, with Barry returning to the NBA after that storied season. Inside the front tail of the fleece jacket is the "Rawlings" manufacturers size 44 tag. Adjacent is the wash instructions tag with the player number “24” written in blue marker. Between these is a white tag with “L” written in blue marker. On the front left chest is “NY NETS” in blue and white tackle twill. Across the back is "NEW YORK" in blue on white tackle twill. On the back inside waistband of the fleece pants is the “Rawlings” manufacturers size 34 tag. Next to this is the outline of an additional tag, which has fallen out. The jacket and pants show wear and appears to have no alterations of any kind. The provenance on this warm-up is absolute. It was a gift from Rick Barry to NY Nets ball boy Al Trautwig. It is accompanied by a LOA from Rick Barry as well as a LOA from Al Trautwig.
