Before Larry Bird stepped onto Indiana State University’s campus in 1975, the now iconic number “33” was worn by Mike Copper. Copper was the team captain, MVP and leading scorer at Indiana State as a Senior and as a Junior lead his to the NCAA Division II runners-up for the National Championship. Copper has since been inducted into the Indiana State Hall of Fame. On the inside back left tail of the white durene jersey is the Rawlings manufacturer’s tag size “40”. Attached is a McMillan distributors tag. Across the chest reads “INDIANA STATE”. The player number “33” appears in between the team name and on the back. All numbering and lettering is done in light blue on navy blue tackle twill. An increasing rare vintage jersey with the now retired number “33”. This jersey is properly tagged, was presented to us as game-used and in our opinion shows excellent use.
