Earl “The Pearl” Monroe was inducted into the Basketball Hall of Fame in 1990 and was named to the NBA 50th Anniversary All-Time Team in 1996. Shortly after winning the 1967 NCAA Championship, Monroe attended a barbecue hosted by the family of a teammate. As a gift for the hospitality at the event, Monore gifted the family this jacket. Up the left inseam is the Butwin manufacturers tag. Adjacent below is a tag with washing instructions. On the lower part of the left inseam is a strip tag reading “Monroe” embroidered in white script style chain stitching. Attached to the rear collar is a flag tag reading the size “44” and “DRY CLEAN ONLY”. On the left chest reads “NCAA 1967 NATIONAL CHAMPION” embroidered in white. There are minor condition issues including small holes throughout the jacket however it displays beautifully. This jacket is properly tagged and was presented to us as Monroe’s personal jacket.
