On the front left tail is a “SPALDING” manufacturer’s tag and adjacent is a size “42” tag. Below is a tag with washing instructions with an attached flag tag that reads, “SET 1 1967”. On the inside rear collar is a white felt strip tag with, “42 67 15” embroidered on it in blue stitching. Across the chest reads, “Mets” and the player number “15” appears on both the front and on the back. All numbering and lettering is done in blue felt on orange tackle twill sewn directly onto the pinstripe home jersey. On the left sleeve is the team’s, “Mets” logo disc patch embroidered. Grote signed the front of the jersey in blue marker and in our opinion the signature rates a 7. There are repaired areas on the shoulders and the numbers have been reinforced. This jersey is properly tagged, was presented to us as game-used and in our opinion shows outstanding use with extended organizational use. Sourced from Herb Norman, the Mets first equipment manager.
